Born in Shiga, Japan in 1976. Currently based in Shiga.
Artist and writer.
Studied Information Design in the Department of Design (correspondence course) at Kyoto University of Art and Design (now Kyoto University of the Arts), as well as the Comprehensive Design Course at Kyoto Art Design College (dual enrollment). Withdrew from both institutions due to illness.
As an artist, Takaaki Mano is internationally active while rooted in Shiga. Since 2006, he has participated in numerous international exchange exhibitions, art fairs, and group shows in major cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, New York, Rome, Miami, Los Angeles, Basel (Switzerland), Tokyo, and Shanghai.
Since 2007, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in Shiga, Tokyo, Osaka, Berlin, Shanghai, and New York.
His major art fair appearances include BERLINER LISTE (Berlin’s largest), ART EXPO New York (one of the world’s largest), Salon Art Shopping at the Louvre Museum in Paris, BAMA (Busan Annual Market of Art) and Daegu International Art Fair (Diaf) in Korea, and ART Santa Fe in the United States. He has also exhibited at the UNESCO World Heritage site Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin.
Primarily working in acrylic painting, he also publishes photo collections, novels, and essays, continuing a multifaceted creative practice. He has authored numerous books.
Spiritual exploration is central to his creative process. His sensitivity—characterized by traits such as Starseed, Indigo Soul, and Empath—imbues his work with deep intuition and universal messages.
In 1996, he experienced Kundalini awakening, and in 2005, he deepened his studies as an Adept with the Modern Mystery School (MMS), walking an inner journey alongside his artistic one.
